Cathy Stone Werner, Artisic Director, is a gymnast turned modern dancer who loves to fly! She graduated from SWT State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Dance and then went on to complete the M.F.A. program in Choreography at the University of Colorado in 2003. Cathy has taught and performed with Frequent Flyers Productions, an innovative aerial dance company in Boulder, Colorado; as well as Wicked Sister Dance Theatre (WSDT) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Since moving to Bozeman, Montana Cathy has worked hard to establish Mountain Air Dance in Bozeman.

Through the melding of modern dance, gymnastics, and aerial arts Cathy has created her own choreographic and teaching style that moves dancers through the vertical space on the stage. She loves to share her aerial knowledge with beginners and professionals alike. Cathy is also a Shiatsu and Massage Therapist working to help dancers, athletes, and 'regular Joes' move through their aches and pains.

Cathy has studied aerial dance technique with Nancy Smith, David DeBlieck, Amy Nystrom, Carmela Weber, Cathy Gauch, Brenda Angiel, Darden Longenecker, Danielle Hendricks, Valerie Claymore, Elsie Smith, Serenity Smith Forchion, Bill Forchion, and Terry Sendgraff.

Benjamin Robert Werner, Technical Director, enjoys prototyping new apparatus and then building them out to full scale. With experience in wood and metal work and a background in engineering, Ben enjoys the technical rigging challenges of safe yet innovative aerial dance.
